Search Engines

Most of the users prefer search engines like Google, Yahoo etc..
But here are some search engines which also search and give relevant web address.These search engines are almost have similar menus and searching procedures.

Search engines are as follows :

Excite :
This has website address as www.excite.com. Excite is an Internet portal, and as one of the "dotcoms" of the 1990s (along with Yahoo! and Netscape), it was once one of the most recognized brands on the Internet. Today it offers a variety of services, including search, web-based email, instant messaging, stock quotes, and a customizable user homepage. The content is collated from over 100 different sources.

Ask :
This has website address as www.ask.com. Ask.com is a search engine started in 1996 by Garrett Gruener and David Warthen in Berkeley, California. The original software was implemented by Gary Chevsky from his own design. Three venture capital firms, Highland Capital Partners, Institutional Venture Partners, and The RODA Group were early investors. Ask.com is currently owned by IAC/InterActiveCorp.

Lycos :
This has website address www.lycos.com. Lycos is a search engine and web portal centered around broadband entertainment content. In October 2004 Lycos was sold by Terra's parent company Telefonica to Daum Communications Corporation the second largest Internet portal in Korea becoming once again Lycos Inc.In February 2007 Lycos MIX was launched a tool allowing users to pull video clips from YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo! Video and MySpace Video, creating playlists where other users can add video comments and chat in real-time.

WebCrawler :
This has website address www.webcrawler.com. WebCrawler is a metasearch engine that blends the top search results from Google, Yahoo!, Live Search (formerly MSN Search), Ask.com, About.com, MIVA, LookSmart and other popular search engines. WebCrawler also provides users the option to search for images, audio, video, news, yellow pages and white pages. WebCrawler is a registered trademark of InfoSpace, Inc.

MetaCrawler :
This has website address www.metacrawler.com. MetaCrawler was originally developed in 1994 at the University of Washington by then graduate student Erik Selberg , Bobby Kalili, and Professor Oren Etzioni as Selberg's Ph.D. Qualifying Exam project.

Netscape :
This has website address www.netscape.aol.com. Netscape is the general name for a series of web browsers originally produced by Netscape Communications Corporation, now a subsidiary of AOL. The original browser was once the dominant browser in terms of usage share, but as a result of the first browser war it lost virtually all of its share to Internet Explorer.

All The Web :
This has website www.alltheweb.com. AlltheWeb is a minor Internet search engine that debuted in mid-1999. It grew out from FTP Search basically.

LookSmart :
This has website address www.search.looksmart.com. LookSmart is an online advertising and technology company headquartered in San Francisco, California. It owned the Zeal internet directory, Wisenut search engine, Furl social bookmarking website, FindArticles premium content search, and Net Nanny desktop parental controls software.

MSN Search :
This search will be redirected to the website address www.Live.com. This is search engine exclusively designed for search. It provides simple and special wallpaper search page.

Dogpile :
This has the website address www.dogpile.com. The Dogpile search engine earned the 2006 and 2007 J.D. Power and Associates award for best Residential Online Search Engine Service. The site was developed in 1996 by Aaron Flin and later sold to Go2net (which was in turn acquired by Infospace).

Thus use these search engines as they also use the same practices of other search engines..
