Favicons for Blogger

A favicon is exactly a favorite icon,a 16x16 pixel square icon associated with a particular website or webpage. Thus a web designer can create such an icon and incorporate into a website (or webpage) by several means, and most graphical web browsers will then make use of it.

Web Browsers that provide favicon support typically display a page's favicon in the browser's Address bar and next to the page's name in a list of bookmarks. Browsers that support a tabbed document interface typically show a page's favicon next to the page's title.

For creating a Favicon a favicon generator is needed. If you don’t have one don’t be upset, as there is an alternative too. If you have Paint, Photoshop or any other photo editing software, then open it. Make a new image with a square resolution say 50 x 50 or 75 x 75.

Then, to make a perfect favicon, you can type letters of your website URL or some image designs. For example Google favicon has letter G in designed way. Then you can make some cool graphic effects with Photoshop . Remember your letters should be covering whole of the square resolution so that the icon is clearly visible.

Now that you have made an image. Now paste the code given below where instead of yourwebsitename type ur web space provider address (include the path of the favicon file)..

Just type the below code within "<" and ">" tags..

link href='http://www.blogger.com/favicon.ico' rel='icon' type='image/vnd.microsoft.icon' /
link href='http://yourwebsitename.com/favicon.ico' rel='icon' type='image/x-icon' /
link href='http://yourwebsitename.com/favicon.ico' rel='shortcut icon' /

The favicon.ico is the favorite icon file which is being used in the website. For using the favicon in the website the file must be first saved in web space provider and then add the link to the website or even in other blogging tools...

Schedule Posts in Blogger

We can write a post now and have it automatically published at some time in the future. The Scheduling of posts from today's date is now available in Blogger.com.We can try this feature on Blogger in draft.

The Scheduling of Posts is available under the blogger widget name "Schedule Posts". The Steps to be followed for publishing a post in the future is pretty simple

-- First Login your blogger account in http://draft.blogger.com instead of http://blogger.com.

-- In the post editor, write your post content and before posting see the "Post Options" available at bottom of Post Editor.

-- In the Post Options, there are 2 options, first being Automatic Date and Time and second being Scheduled Date and Time.

-- In the Scheduled Date and Time enter a post date and time that is in the future. When you then click the “Publish” button, your post will become “scheduled.” When the date and time of the post arrive, your post will be automatically published to your blog.

-- To cancel a scheduled post, Go to Edit Posts, select the scheduled post in "Edit Mode" and save it as Draft. Thus the scheduled becomes a normal post and post is being published immediately.

The Scheduled posts feature works well when You have logged your Blogger account in http://draft.blogger.com

Advantages of Scheduled Posts in Blogger :

* Some bloggers currently use future post dates in order to keep one post at the top of their blog for a while. First they can publish the post with the current date and time. This will publish it to their blog. Then, once it’s published, edit the post to change the date to the future and publish it again.

* Published posts can be re-scheduled so the post will stay on your blog but sort to the very top.
